
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
An extremely popular and full contact martial art focusing predominantly on the ground fighting aspect of combat. Grappling including throws, takedowns, submissions and joint locks are used in this art with no striking being allowed.
Traditionally a Gi is worn with a belt with levels ranging from white belt to black belt. Often since the rise of the UFC Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is often taught using no Gi training methods and competitors / students wear shorts and RashGuard in a more modern approach mainly for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. Many BJJ practitioners also train no Gi and Gi as do MMA fighters and students to gain as much knowledge about the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
This martial art is well known to suit many body types and age ranges. Regardless of gender ability or age, this martial art can offer students grappling based self defence or competition options if they wish to take their training to the next level.
